HUMMINGBIRDS is a music and sound production team created by Bryan Scary and Giulio Carmassi.

Our unique background as both musicians and filmmakers (NYU and UCLA) affords us great insight into the mechanics of storytelling. We know how to amplify the crucial emotion of an edit, to build and layer and produce contemporary musical scores that energize viewers. Working closely with our collaborators,  we strive to elevate a given piece with a perfected custom identity and seamless flow. 

Drawing from years of multi-faceted musical experiences, we've become experts in a huge range of genres and styles. We can quickly turn around anything from indie rock songs to symphonic orchestrations to classic Hollywood scoring to 20th Century Classical pieces to sophisticated jazz backing (and beyond).   

BRYAN SCARY is a songwriter and composer. He has led his band through various lineups over a decade, producing records covered in Pitchfork and Rolling Stone. He is a member of BMI'S Advanced Lehman Engel Songwriting Workshop.  

GIULIO CARMASSI is a classically trained pianist and orchestrator and an internationally renowned multi-instrumentalist. He has recorded and toured the world with artists such as the 20-time Grammy Award winner Pat Metheny, Will Lee, Steve Gadd and Chuck Loeb.
